WELCOME MESSAGE

Cairncastle Primary School has a rich history, tracing its origins back to 1831 when it was established by the Cairncastle Presbyterian Church. Initially, the school was located in the hall of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church. Over the years, the school underwent significant developments, including a relocation to new premises on Drumnagreagh Road, situated adjacent to the Presbyterian Church. This building served as the school's home until 1979 when the present, more modern facility on Cairncastle Road was constructed. In September 2003, an extension to the school was completed, further enhancing its capabilities.

The current school facility boasts five contemporary classrooms, a resource area, a dedicated special needs room, the principal's office, a secretary's office, and a spacious hall. Beyond the indoor facilities, our school also provides ample outdoor space, featuring a well-maintained surface area with designated game markings, an enclosed garden with beautifully landscaped beds, and nearly an acre of grassy grounds.

We take pride in our well-equipped school, which offers excellent resources for sports, physical education, music, and information and communication technology (ICT) education. Additionally, we offer a diverse range of after-school clubs throughout each term, catering to various age groups. Notably, our school facilitates swimming lessons at the Larne Leisure Centre every Friday morning for P6 and P7 students. Furthermore, we actively participate in local competitions through our school football team and have our girls' hockey team competing in the annual Larne tournament, typically held around Easter. We remain committed to providing a nurturing and enriching educational environment for our students, fostering both academic and extracurricular growth.
